We have limited availability in various age groups and will assign as many players as space allows.  Players interested in registering during this period must submit payment during registration (to include a $10 late fee) and will be waitlisted.  Players will be assigned on a space-available basis, and team assignment is not guaranteed; refunds will be given to unassigned waitlisted players.

Academy teams enjoy success at Winter Classic

Eclipse Academy took nine teams to the 2010 National Fusion Winter Classic the weekend of Feb. 19-21 and seven of those teams made the finals in their respective brackets, with four winning first-place trophies.

Methodist Sugar Land initiates Eclipse VIP program

As part of its ongoing partnership with Eclipse Soccer Club, Methodist Sugar Land Hospital is offering players a Sports VIP program to expedite diagnosis and treatment in the event of an injury during training or matches. 

The parents of players who need assistance will be given a Sports VIP card by their trainer, manager or coach to present upon arrival at the Methodist Sugar Land Hospital Emergency Center.   The card also includes contact information for Angela Byrd, the Methodist Orthopaedic Specialists of Texas (MOST) representative for Eclipse Soccer Club, who can coordinate care upon arrival and facilitate scheduling of follow-up appointments. 

The Sports VIP Card also works in other areas of Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, such as imaging.  Also, should an Eclipse player ever need to be admitted for an overnight stay (for whatever reason), the parent, manager or coach can contact Angela who will coordinate VIP services.

Eclipse players enjoy Dynamo Academy experience

Three players from Eclipse Soccer Club’s U11 Black team are training with the Houston Dynamo Junior Academy U12 squad.  Luke Dunn, Daniel Shahim and Abdullah Mirza, from left in the accompanying photo, were selected for the team following tryouts.  The Junior Academy curriculum focuses solely on skill and technique development and allows players to continue with their club teams since there are no Dynamo Academy matches

Galaxy Eclipse takes first

Galaxy Eclipse 01 won first place in the Gold bracket of the 2010 National Fusion Winter Classic, defeating Lunar Eclipse 01 on penalties in the championship match.  The two teams had battled to a 2-2 draw after extra time before advancing to penalties. 
 
Galaxy Eclipse 01 is managed by Mario Rivera with help from assistants Scott Paxton and John Franklin.  Way to go, Galaxy!

Solar Eclipse takes first

Solar Eclipse 01 captured first place in the U9 Silver bracket of the National Fusion Winter Classic 2010, Feb. 19-21.  The girls finished round-robin play with a two wins and one draw and went on to defeat Jasper Twisters  2-1 in the championship match.   Solar Eclipse scored 12 goals in its four tournament matches.  Well done, girls!

Congratulations to Eclipse 99G Black

Eclipse Soccer Club’s top U11 girls team won the National bracket of the recent Eclipse Invitational tournament.  The girls advanced to the championship match against Texas Rush Nike Blue with a strong showing in group play and a 5-2 semi-final win.  In the final, 99 Black and Texas Rush battled to 0-0 draw in regulation before Eclipse stepped up to win the first-place trophy on penalties. The team is managed by Jamie Ellis.  Well done, girls!

97B Black wins Albion tournament

Eclipse Soccer Club’s top U13 boys team captured first place in the recent Albion Hurricanes Spring Cup.  97 Black finished first in its group play bracket with wins over Lonestar Red and Albion 97 Blue and a draw with Texans Red.  The team then defeated Albion 98 Blue – winners of the other group play bracket – in the championship match, 5-2.  Eclipse 97 Black is managed by Adam Saleh.

98 Black wins Express tournament

Eclipse 98B Black defeated Houston Express Navy 2-0 to win the U12 bracket of the Houston Express Adidas Cup on Sunday, Feb. 7.  The team finished the tournament with a record of three wins and one draw and only conceded two goals in four matches.  Eclipse U12 Black is managed by Scott Rivenes.

Cosmic Eclipse wins NEYSO Groundhog tourney

Cosmic Eclipse 00 captured first place in the boys U10 bracket at the NEYSO Groundhog tournament in San Antonio Jan. 30-31.  The team also finished first in HYSA’s top bracket in the fall with a record of 8-1-1.  Well done, boys!

Eclipse 97G Black qualifies for State Classic League

Eclipse Soccer Club’s top U13 girls team not only won its bracket at the Eclipse Invitational tournament Jan. 29-31 … the girls also qualified for the 2011 spring State Classic League since two tournament matches counted toward qualification.  By going unbeaten in the tournament with two wins and two draws – and winning and drawing the qualification matches – 97 Black took home the championship trophy and secured a spot in the SCL.    

 

The team will be one of six representatives from the Eastern District Division One Association (EDDOA) competing against the best teams from the west.  

97 Black is trained by Steve “Willie” Williams and managed by Poly Isis.

Eclipse 96B Black wins Texan Madness tourney

Eclipse Black captured first place in the top U14 bracket at the Texan Madness 2010 tournament Jan. 30-31, winning all three matches by identical 2-1 scores.   The team was forced to play with only 10 players in one match and 11 in another due to injuries and conflicts with school activities.  Congratulations, U14 Black!

New referee clinics scheduled

Due to a higher than expected response, two additional referee training clinics have been scheduled in February.  These clinics are limited in space so don’t delay … classes will be filled by order of registration.

95 White wins Klein tourney

Eclipse 95B White won the boys high school "Black" bracket at the recent Klein Thanksgiving Tournament. 95 White won all four of its matches and conceded just one goal in winning the tournament.

Eclipse 92B Black shines at showcase

Congratulations to Eclipse 92B Black for an outstanding performance at the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) Showcase Soccer Series in Raleigh, N.C., on Dec. 11-12.   

 

Eclipse 92 Black, led by boys Director of Coaching Luis Labastida, turned more than a few heads at the renowned showcase by defeating Chicago Fire Academy 1-0 as well as a team from Virginia, 2-1.    The team is managed by John Carrion. 

The CASL Showcase was held in conjunction with the NCAA Men’s College Cup in nearby Cary, N.C.

Eclipse 96B White finishes third at state

Congratulations to Eclipse 96B White, which finished third at the STYSA Super II state championships in Beaumont on Dec. 12-13.  Eclipse White earned a spot in the tournament by finishing second in Eastern District regular season play.  The boys went 1-2-1 at the state tournament, facing tough competition from Austin, Laredo and El Paso teams. 
 

 

96 White earned a spot in the state Super II tournament by finishing second in Eastern District fall play.  In addition to advancing to state, 96 White also earned promotion to Division 1 for fall 2010.  The team is managed by Paul Ling.

Eclipse 94G Red takes home the silver

Congratulations to Eclipse 94G Red, which finished second in the STYSA Division II state championship tournament in San Antonio Dec. 12-13.    The team went through round-robin play unbeaten, but lost the championship in a tie-breaker shootout by one goal to T&C Lady Pumas of Austin. 

 

The second-place finish in the state tournament was preceded by an undefeated season in HYSA play.  Eclipse Red finished the fall with 49 goals scored and five conceded for an amazing differential of plus-44. 

94 Red was newly formed over the summer, with six returning players from the 94s joining with five play-ups from the 95 age group and a number of other girls from the Eclipse recreational program and other clubs.  The team is trained by Bob Wilde and managed by Clint Bennett.   Well done, ladies!

Eclipse 93B Black competes in prestigious Surf Cup

Eclipse 93B Black traveled to San Diego over the Thanksgiving weekend to play in the prestigious Surf College Cup, attended by 350 college coaches from across the United States.  93 Black competed in a bracket with South Bay Force 93, United Futbol Black and Davis SC Legacy, all from California.  The team finished third thanks to a 2-2 draw with Davis SC Legacy and goal differential in its other matches.

99 Black finishes second in Klein tournament

Eclipse 99B Black took second place in the top bracket of the 13th annual Klein Thanksgiving tournament, compiling a 3-0-0 record in pool play with decisive wins over Dallas Texans and Chivas and a hard-fought victory over Houstonians Red.In the final, 99 Black lost a close 3-2 match to LAFC Houstonians.  The team is managed by Mike Briggs.
